MISSION STATEMENT

OOOHHSANDUSKY VALLEY AMATEUR RADIO CLUB -  Our mission focuses on providing  volunteer emergency communication services (ARES/EMCOMM) during  disasters, supporting public events (races, parades), and promoting STEM  education. They serve the community  by training new operators, hosting licensing exams, and offering  technical expertise in radio technology to the public. Core Components of a Community-Focused Ham Radio Club Mission:

• Emergency Preparedness (EMCOMM): Offering auxiliary communication services to local authorities during disasters, floods, or search and rescue operations.
• Public Service Events: Providing radio communication support for community, charity, and sporting events (e.g., marathons, bike rides, parades).
• Education and Training: Offering licensing classes (Tech, General, Extra) for community members and mentoring newcomers to the hobby.
• Public Awareness: Educating the community on the role, history, and benefits of amateur radio.
• Technical Assistance: Assisting with radio programming, antenna installation, and providing technical support to local residents.
• Safety and Community Welfare: Collaborating with agencies like the National Weather Service for early severe weather detection. 

By implementing these, clubs fulfill the "Radio Amateur's Code"—being helpful, friendly, and prepared to serve the community.
